From
Kathmandu, you enjoy an exciting flight to Lukla (2860m, 9384ft).
Trek to
Phakding. (2622m, 8603ft). Take some time to
visit the monastery located in the rocks above Chheplung. Cross
over the Dudh Kosi River to the west bank to reach the lodge.

Trek to Namche Bazar
(3340m, 10959ft). Sagarmatha National Park has
its new entrance here and you will have to show your permit. The path then climbs above the valley floor to one
of the highest suspension bridges in Nepal. From there the trail continues
climbing steeply through the forest. Namche Bazar is the largest
village and the administrative center of the Khumbu region. Situated in
a horseshoe-shaped valley high above the Bhote Kosi and surrounded by
steep hills, it faces the impressive north face of Mt. Kwangde peak (6187m).

Trek to
Khumjung (3790m, 12435ft), called the green valley. One of the most
interesting hikes is the climb up the hill north of town to the
Shyangboche airstrip area and Khumjung. You will enjoy the fantastic
view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Kangtega, Thamserku and Ama Dablam. Visit
the local Khumjung Gompa, the school, hike to Kunde and visit the
hospital and the Gompa. |

Trek
to Dole (4040m, 13255ft). Leaving Khumjung you have a choice of two
trails up to Mong La.
After steep down to Phortse Tanga. From Phortse Tanga on the trail to
Dole is a gradual ascent up the valley passing through patches of birch
and rhododendron forest where the elusive musk deer can sometimes be
seen. |

Trek
to Machermo (4410m, 14469ft). Walking along
the alpine meadow with yaks and alpine high land birds and flowers, with
view of Cho Oyu (8153m, 26750ft) in the North. This is short walk but altitude
wise it is necessary stop at Machharmo. |

Trek to Gokyo
Lakes (4750m, 15585ft).
Arrive at the foot of a rock staircase and begin the slow climb
upwards. After another 15 minutes the path emerges at a small bridge
over the Dudh Kosi, now only a clear stream and marks the first of the
Gokyo Lakes, populated with its amazing high altitude ducks. The second
Gokyo Lake is a lot larger. Continue to walk along the well defined
path. Just before Gokyo, there is a chautara covered with prayer flags.
From here you can see Gokyo village. |

Hiking to Gokyo Ri
(5,333m,
17498ft) and back to
Gokyo Lake. This day early in the morning we have steep climb up to the
top of Gokyo Ri ample rewards to one attempts this trip. There are
stunning views of the upper Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier
and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, such as
giants as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu (8481m), Cho-Oyu (8153m) and
Gychung Kang (7922m) can be seen. |

Trek to Tagnag (4661m, 15293ft).
Walk back down the Gokyo Valley along the
way you came. Just after the second lake, a tiny cairn marks a small
path rising on the left up the moraine. Cross the crevassed
glacier and reach the lateral moraine on the far side, and you'll have
the earth under your feet again. The village is just below a small
cliff. |

Trek to Dzongla
(4830m, 15847ft) via Cho la
Pass (5330m, 17488ft). Leave
Tagnag by following the path alongside the stream up the valley behind
the village to the northeast. Follow the path through the yak pastures
to a saddle at 5,120 metres. From here you can see the Cho La - it's an
impressive sight. There's another 400 metres of ascent from this point
to the top of the Cho La at 5,420 metres. Descend the far side to
Dzongla (8 hours) passing two small lakes. |

Trek to Lobuche
(4915m, 16126ft). Leaving Dzongla, you climb up for about 20 minutes up,
then gently follow the path, overlooking Dugla. The path joins the main
trail exactly on the river. Continue smoothly up to Lobuche. You only
see Lobuche at the last moment. |

Visit Kala Patthar
(5545m, 18193ft) and back to Lobuche.
The
trail climbs a moraine, from which there is a view of Gorak Shep (a
sandy, flat area with a frozen lake) and Kala Pattar. Descend the
moraine to the sandy flats, and skirt the lake
at Gorak Shep.
From Gorak Shep, it is about a 1 1/2 -hour steep climb to the top of Kala
pattar. At the top you have not only a stunning view of Everest, but a
360-degree panorama of peaks including Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Kantenga,
Thamserku, Tawatse, Pumo Ri, and Changtse. Once you've taken in the
view, hustle back down to Lobuche and be thankful that you'll soon be
getting back to where the air is a bit thicker. |

Trek to Pangboche
(3965m, 13009ft). This is not a difficult day. Gently walk down
to the pass and steep down to Tukla lodge. It takes about half hour from
Tukla to reach the flats of Periche valley. From there on you will need
sure 1 hour to reach Pheriche. Have a lunch in Pheriche. After lunch, a small ascent to
the pass (4297m, 14098ft) Crossing the small pass, you will after a long
slowly descending pasture reach Shomare. From Shomare it takes 1 hour to reach Pangboche. |

Trek to Namche Bazar.
Beautiful walk through Rhododendron, Birch, Willows and cross the
Dudkosi river and up hill to Mong La (4020m, 13190ft). This is good
viewpoint than walk along side to Sanasa and Melingo. From there a large
trail brings you to Namche Bazar. |

Trek to
Lukla. Down hill through the pine forest leaving behind
Everest and cross the several bridge on the Dudkosi river. Enjoy the greener
vegetation and cultivation along the Sherpa villages. Have lunch in
Phakding. There is no rush to reach Lukla today. On arrival
stay at a hotel near the airstrip. The airstrip itself is an interesting
place. Without actually seeing it happen, you might not believe a
nineteen-passenger plane could fly in and out of here. |

Fly back to Kathmandu.
